Artist statement
“Temporality” is a three-track EP exploring how my musical identity has developed over time, and how the influences I’ve picked up along the way continue to shape the music I make. Each track explores a different part of this. Perpetuity draws on my longstanding influences in grunge and alternative rock. Interval reflects the experimentation and collaboration I’ve experienced throughout university, and Becoming represents where I’m at musically right now.
Bass is the common thread throughout the EP, taking on a different role on each piece. The songs bring together familiar influences and newer ideas, developed through collaboration and experimentation in the recording studio.
The project feature contributions from Callum Spillane (trumpet), Matilda Dickson (saxophone), Ethan Tudor (Drums, guitar), Melody Tough (piano), Ben Chin (synth, piano). Ben and I engineered the EP, and I handled mixing and mastering.
