Artist bio
Ethan is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter who specialises in electric guitar and drums. He is currently members of the bands, Streless and Autumn Sunset, playing numerous gigs all along the coast, as well as collaborating with other musicians to create music in a vast arrangement of genres and styles.
Artist statement
My project is one epic indie rock song devised into three tracks. This is an introspective piece about my self-doubts when playing and performing music, as well as issues I have faced including burnout and being stuck in what’s next.
Each of the three tracks symbolise a section of the journey of pursuing a music career, ranging from the lyrical content to the stylistic choices. The story of the EP is represented with a musician stuck on the side of the road with a broken-down van, contemplating their life as a musician.
For the EP, the guitars and drums are recorded by me, with assistance of Callum on bass guitar and Matilda on vocals. In the live performance I have enlisted Tom on rhythm guitar, Melody on Grand Piano, and Ben on drums. The artwork is inspired by the Beatles self-titled album with the replacement of the words replaced with a van.
