Wollongong-based artist-producer Donny turns feeling into sound through synth-led, hook-driven modern RnB/pop. Showing vulnerability, he expresses the true nature of life through his music – or at least as he sees it. With international collaborations and 65,000 streams on Spotify alone, it’s clear that he is doing something right.
Artist statement
IT’S ALL LOVE is a three-track EP about the journey of moving on from someone who has hurt you deeply, by learning to love them anyway. A broken friendship, a family rift, a relationship that ended in betrayal: the situation may differ, but the road back from self-consuming hatred is still the same. Forgiveness may not control the past, but it stops the past from controlling the future.
Blending synthwave soundscapes, huge climaxes, and hip-hop inspired vocal cadences, the record documents the journey from hurt into rumination, and through to release. All tracks were written in the leadup to this semester, and through collaboration with classmates Freddie Pinder and Journie Cotejo, were recorded in the UOW recording studios.
Following the conclusion of my time at UOW, this semesters three-track EP will eventually be extended into a five-track project that will be released on all streaming services in early 2027.
