Artist statement
“Meteorite” is a piece I wrote after a particularly vivid dream I had about a meteor hurdling towards the Earth from my point of view. With my piece, I tried my hardest to recreate the non-diegetic soundtrack that accompanied the vivid imagery. I further developed this piece to showcase the bass guitar in 3 distinct styles:
as a solo instrument, as a lead instrument and the bass in its intended role.
Accompanying me is Ethan Tudor on the guitar, Melody Tough on the synthesiser and Nathan Tewi on the drums.
