Artist statement

My major project is a Rock/Punk EP titled “Burning” focusing on punk songwriting techniques and is inspired by a mix of artists such as Joy Division and Midnight Oil. My EP takes a political stance against racism in Australia; over the course of the EP the music takes a progressively introspective look into this topic.

“Selling it off” is the song the opening song off the EP performed at the graduation show and recorded live by myself, Nathan, Hamish and Lewis It is written as the most ‘traditional’ punk song of the ep. The following two songs titled “Not mine, not yours” and “Accept” are written based of songwriting with melody and chord changes respectively in mind. All the songs were also recorded live with Nathan, Hamish and Lewis. Finally Thank you to Molly Rose Duggan for creating the amazing cover art for the EP.
