Artist Statement

I wrote where do you go? as a way of exploring a range of musical ideas; both in terms of lyrics and sonic material.

The textures and arrangements of these songs engage in a sort of “cross-generational” conversation, utilising live recording techniques, digital enhancement and alteration tools within the DAW space, and exclusively digital arrangement and instrumentation to create a broad spectrum of soundscapes, all interacting with each other and shifting over the course of the project.

The project bridges the gap between the acoustic, the analogue, and the digital, placing these three approaches to sound into a dialogue with each other.

‘Seasons’ pays tribute to country and folk music.

‘VACANCY’ delves fully into the fuzz and chaos of shoegaze and noise pop.

‘angel’ is a stripped back acoustic ballad, with the addition of heavily processed, layered vocals.

where do you go? features Will Coleman on bass guitar (track 1 and 2), Victor Strange on drums (track 1 and 2), Tristan White on slide guitar (track 1) and Chelsea Daghita on background vocals (track 1). All other instrumentation, production and song writing has been done by myself.
