Program notes
This semester I wanted to explore my options amongst a variety of genres and become competent in both the creation, recording, producing and live performance. My major workflows from a folk acoustic piece named ‘Far Enough’ to an electric guitar-oriented ballad piece called ‘Fighting Haze’ to an indie rock piece titled ‘Time for Two’ and finally to an electronic piece titled ‘Who Are You?’. I couldn’t place myself in any of these genres specifically therefore making the most out of the facilities I let my imagination run wild and create whatever it wanted to. Seeking inspiration from Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, Ziggy Alberts, Dominic Fike, The Vanns, the list could go on. Sound engineering and the art of the mix and master is a skill that I wanted to further in the creation of this EP and by navigating through the different genres I was able to do so.
