Jessica Tan

Originally a classical violinist, Jessica delights in making classical music accessible and relatable to the wider population. She is also a singer and loves writing music for choirs while being passionate about music education. As a committed follower of Jesus, Jessica delights in praising God through song and reflecting on His character in her music.

My Major Project vision was to write a short musical for grades 5 and 6 students that would assist in their music education. For this project I have written the first three songs. The musical conveys the story of 3 children who’s Father is very sick, they are being encouraged by their Grand Father to trust God and are told and brought into a story about a place called ‘Lumino City’. They go on an adventure throughout the City learning to protect their faith and continue trusting in the promises God has made. I’m very thankful to my performers, Kaitlin Lawler, Rachel Tidbury, Allison Wales, Juniette Roa for singing and Chet Tucker for playing the piano in the piece ‘Lumino City’.
