Program notes

‘Happy Sad’ is a conceptual amalgamation of my creative skills, detailing my exploration of a more extroverted creative path, all while displaying my creative tribulations and emotional trials during lockdown. My mantra during this lockdown has been ‘Let the physical barriers be the only barriers present’, and with that I threw caution to the wind. ‘Happy Sad’ depicts the uncomfortable middle ground between two conflicting, but ultimately, similar valued emotions.
I must give a big thank you to myself for showing up, seeing this one through and never giving up. I also have to send out a big thank you to my fiancé Darby for holding the camera, handing me the tissues and being my number one cheerleader. In a similar, but vastly more physical distance vibe, a big thank you to the rest of my class and teachers for your wonderful feedback and encouragement.
