Ryley Knight

Ryley Knight is a guitarist, interested in creating instrumental psychedelic and blues rock music. He records instrumental tracks and performs as part of ensembles whenever the opportunity arises.
“My major work ‘Pythagoras’ was created as an instrumental psychedelic rock piece consisting of three tracks, forming one large piece. It was heavily inspired by the Pythagorean Brotherhood, an ancient Greek cult originating in 6th century BC.
The three tracks, ‘Reborn’, ‘Tetractys’ and ‘Irrational’, represents the stages a new member of the Pythagorean Brotherhood would undergo.
The beginning represents experiencing the initial bliss of the cult, not knowing their fate that lies ahead, starting on a lighter tone and ambient feel. The tone shifts in the second track as the Tetractys is introduced, a God in the form of an equilateral triangle. Finally, an irrational fate is revealed in the final track as the piece gets darker and heavier, as strict rules within the Brotherhood have fatal punishments.
The project was created in collaboration with Ashton Low, Max Williamson and Max Ramirez.
Album art for this project was created by using A.I. to generate an image based on text.”
