Max Williamson
Max is a multi-instrumentalist specialising in the bass guitar. He has honed his performance skills through various bands at UOW, gigs, and at his church. His music aims to evoke joy in the listener. He does this through high energy compositions that have a rhythmic focus.
“My project is a 2 track EP titled “Enter If You Dare”. The 2 songs take a contrasting approach to the funk genre.
The song “Enter If You Dare” features instruments common to the funk genre: Vocals (Rowena Russell), drums (Morrisey Powell), electric guitar (Ryley Knight) and bass guitar played by me. This light hearted, energetic song tells the moral conflicts of a surprise Nerf war with my wife. “Enter If You Dare” is best heard live so will be performed in the concert “Outro”.
The second track, “The Man Who Dared”, features instruments uncommon to the funk genre but is still heavily inspired by it. In the piece I play the guitar, bass, sing, and beatbox. The lyrics in some of the verses are written so that I can beatbox and sing them at the same time. The song incorporates looping to layer the various instruments and sections. “
