As the lead singer and guitarist of the band Dating Kane, he performs across Sydney and Wollongong. The EP showcases two contrasting approaches: one track reflecting the traditional blues roots of slide guitar, and the other recontextualising the technique within a modern indie rock framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this project, I aimed to highlight both the expressive and emotional depth of traditional slide blues, as well as the creative potential of adapting traditional methods to contemporary genres. I performed all instruments and vocals, as well as handled the mixing and mastering processes independently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project represents a significant step in my growth as a musician, composer, and producer, challenging me to step outside my comfort zone, embrace a new skill and produce work of a higher artistic and technical standard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Artist Bio Kane Upton is a musician, songwriter, and performer studying a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Music) at the University of Wollongong.
