Artist bio<\/strong>
Astrid Harris is an emerging singer-songwriter from the Far South Coast of New South Wales. Growing up in an art-loving household, she was involved within many different creative pursuits, but as a teenager realised her love for creating music, producing much of her work within her own bedroom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Program notes<\/strong>
\u2018Misery Guts\u2019 is about reaching a level of acceptance and comfort with challenging emotions. My project explores this concept through a 3 track EP, each track addressing a different stage of dealing with loss. While it initially presents itself through gloomy distortion and melancholic lyrics, the project is not void of any hope. Relief appears in the final track, taking a more satirical approach to the whirlwind of emotions that come with loss. Whether that be facing the loss of yourself, someone you loved or someone you used to know. Inspired by works of artists such as Ben Howard, Billie Marten and Arctic Monkeys, \u2018Misery Guts\u2019 is a reminder that contentment can still exist within sadness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
